However, after my job interview today, I have been reviewing all of the reasons it sucks to live here in the swamp. There are many.
For starters, the round trip to town costs me between 3 and 5 gallons MINIMUM, depending on how many places I go while IN town. Then there are the towns to which I refer. Both are full of absolutely nothing that interests me, with the exception of the Strand Theatre in Shreveport.
Also, even clerical jobs don't offer shit for pay around here.
I mean, honestly, I was making far more money as an uneducated
The interview I had today? Was with a company that couldn't even offer me enough money per hour to make it worth my drive to town. Basically, they offered me minimum wage. Minimum wage would only be worth it to me if I worked within walking distance of my home. Which is unlikely, considering I live in the absolute middle of nowhere.
I haven't given up yet. I won't give up. However, considering the lousy pay rates being offered around here, and the horseshit one has to put up with for such shitty pay,
well, I don't want to think about it. And that is something I am good at. Denial? My oldest friend. (Hey, I am an addict, you know. We live in denial.)
Yeah, let's just say it's depressing, how shitty the pay rates are around here.
Good thing I haven't run through all of my options yet, huh? There has to be something out there for me. There just HAS to be.
Until I find it, at least the house will be clean and the puppy will get to hang out with her mummie a lot.
