Moments

I live in the swamps. As much as I complain about the distance to anything remotely resembling civilization, there is much beauty around me.

There is a haunting beauty about Caddo Lake. It is truly more swamp than lake. The cypress trees, with their ornaments of Spanish moss, lend this place an air of mystery. The lily pads that grow so thick they almost choke off the boat roads make it seem almost as if time forgot this place.

In spite of the griping about the trek to town, I do love the view and don't regret the time we're spending here.

  3. Ooooh, you're playing the gratitude card today. That's my most favourite card.

Thank you for sharing the beauty that is a part of your surroundings, Cindy. I have occasionally had to live away from water (I live by the sea) and I could barely breathe. Also? I love cypress trees.

  4. It's hard to understand the beauty of the swamps unless you've seen it. It's serene. Cypress trees are simply beautiful.

    (Mosquitoes suck though =P)

    1. Oh, the mosquitos were awful this spring! Hopefully we'll get a good freeze this winter to avoid that problem next year.

  5. Cypress trees make me giddy.

But really, I'm here to tell you that I cleaned out my kitchen drawers the other day. Because of you. And I gave away almost everything in there. And now when I open them (nine million times a day) I about fall to my knees with gratitude. They're PRETTY. Even my 3 year old was all, "Oh, Mama. These look BOO-tiful!"
