Shoe porn, day 2. Newest pair.

Some of you may have already seen these on teh twitterz. These are my newest shoes. (That's a lie. There is a pair that is technically newer, but they were bought for a specific purpose and I would personally count the most newest pair as a work tool but my sponsor says if it goes on my foot it counts as a shoe, so. The 'technically' newest pair will be featured in a later post along with the story behind them.)

This is the pair of kitten heel pumps referred to in my "keep the change" post over at Band Back Together. I wore these shoes just yesterday, because I got hurt at work Saturday and am limping these days. Also, some long ago tailor totally screwed up my navy blue Armani pants by cutting off the extra fabric when she hemmed them AND CUTTING A VENT INTO WHAT WAS LEFT. So those pants are too short to wear with most of my skyscraper stilettos.

I don't know how well you can see the color on these shoes in this picture. They are the palest shade of "blush", bordering on "nude". Surprisingly comfortable. I say surprisingly because I usually cannot wear flats or kitten heels without hurting my calf muscles. I've worn extreme heels for so long now that I have literally reshaped the musculature of my legs--I've shortened the muscles and tendons in my calves and ankles. These are just enough heel that it doesn't hurt too bad, and they're timeless classics that will serve me for as long as the shoe-man can keep repairing them. And they pop like mad against those navy blue trousers I wore with them yesterday.

When we run out of shoe porn, should I start in on my fabulous "finds" in clothing? Like the Armani pants (new with tags and never hemmed) that the neighbor GAVE me yesterday because they didn't fit the intended recipient?

  1. First, I'm completely impressed that you wear heels to lay out concert stages. Second, that you've found not one, but two pairs of fabulous Armani pants, and that you wear them to work. Where was your fabulousness when I worked in rep? =) Hope the leg/foot is feeling better soon!

  2. Actually, four pairs of Armani pants. Three are blue. My secret Armani source, that makes Armani affordable? Yoox.com

  3. I can't wear kitten heels. Petty sure it is the size of my backend. I am very hourglassy, but I fall over backward if the heels are too short and, moreover, if they don't angle appropriately to mimic a healthy flat. I can't explain that any better so one day I am doing to write my own shoe porn post. I aspire.

I have one pair of kittens, red. I wore them once to the airport in an effort to get an upgrade. It worked but my luggage was super heavy. I landed on my ass from a crouch more than once.

That never happens in a decent 4" heel. I'm now going to blame that on my reshaped musculature. I like it.

  4. Hell yes, bring on the fashion. I wear the same pair of Crocs everyday plus jeans and tshirts. I need some vicarious fashion.

  5. Karen, a massage therapist confirmed that we women do indeed reshape our leg muscles when we wear heels all the time. So blame it on the reshaped musculature, it's true!
    Joules,
I will definitely include some vicarious fashion. Free Armani pants is blogworthy, no?
