How is my The Christmas shopping done so early?

I suppose I should elaborate on my post about how I am almost done shopping for The Christmas.

It's easy to be done when the family has agreed for several years now that the economy sucks and we're not buying gifts. That leaves me with only Sunshine and Mollie to get presents for.

Sunshine and I agreed that we weren't doing a gross consumerist The Christmas this year, and he only asked for one thing. He asked for some special camouflage-type set of clothing for his hunting exploits. I added an eReader to the list of things to buy, because it just seems practical, seeing how he loves to read and there is no room for books in a magic bus.

I only asked for three things myself, none of them major purchases, and all very practical things that will get used a lot.

As for Mollie, she only asked for toys and snacks. She is getting a darling little camouflage puffer jacket with a faux-fur trimmed hood on it, because she loves to go to the woods with her poppers when he takes corn or sour mash out there to draw in the wild boar. Also, the jacket was too cute to pass up, since my doggie isn't always the most girlie of little girls. Toys, well, she'll get plenty of those. And snacks? Well, how on earth do you think Santa Paws gets her interested in dragging all of those toys out of her stocking? Somewhere, I have a video of her going at her stocking last year on The Christmas Morning.

Seriously, y'all, when you only have two loved ones to buy gifts for, it's easy to be [almost] done this early. Now, if I can only get that Nook Simple Touch or a Kindle Paperwhite on some sort of door-buster type of deal without setting foot in a store, I'm one happy little girl.

    1. Well, I still have to get that eReader for Sunshine, but I'm not going to sweat it. If I have to pay full price, so be it.

  2. I only have my hubby and three kids so you'd think I'd be done too but I'm not even close. Despite the fact that I'm wicked poor right now, I'm still buying gifts. I decided to do the one cool gift and then a couple of small gifts but this will be the year that reality sets in under the tree. The good thing is that the kids are old enough to "get it".

    1. Sunshine is such a sweet guy; he is always so appreciative of even the smallest gifts, so even if I didn't get him a Nook or Kindle, he'd think it was an awesome the christmas with the things I already have for him. Isn't it nice to have people that 'getI it' in our lives?
